These figures represent a reported floor, not a dataset total — the vast majority of AI datacenter campuses do not publish a daily water figure. Cooling water is the least-transparent civic dimension in this dataset. Cooling method is a meaningful proxy for water intensity: evaporative systems consume far more water than air-cooled or closed-loop alternatives.

Each figure counts facilities carrying at least one sourced value in that dimension — not average completeness. A facility with any documented energy source, utility, or note counts as covered for energy; the same logic applies across all six dimensions.

Evidence quality

The atlas follows the “a source for every record” standard — every field traces back to a public source. AI classification and confidence levels make that evidence quality explicit.
